Podcasts in the Elementary School

This site brings us to Long Elementary School in Dearborn, Michigan. The school is extremely active in publishing student podcasts which incorporate multi curriculum areas. The three interactive podcast stories are composed by students across the grade levels demonstrating collaborative learning. The students are involved creatively in all the aspects of producing the podcasts.

I began my search for the ultimate, most inspiring, and relevant blog site for this assignment. Being a digital immigrant, I found myself aimlessly "surfing"' the net. Many of the sites required subscriptions and other free sites were unsubstantial. I finally came upon a site that had a sampling from a NECC 2004 Conference of blogs from elementary students. I am a very visual learner, and this site enabled me to see the endless possibilities of using blogging in the classroom. It also has an initial tutorial for educators for beginning a weblog. The one disadvantage is the date of this publication. It still provided a good resource for someone first experiencing these emerging technologies.
